Jonathan Mark is a ceramic artist based in Colorado whose work is rooted in the wheel-thrown process and long-term dedication to craft. He began working with clay in high school, where the technical challenge and physicality of pottery quickly developed into a sustained commitment to ceramics.
After briefly studying ceramics post-graduation and attempting to launch an early pottery business, Jonathan stepped away from clay during the COVID-19 pandemic because of burnout and shifting priorities. That pause ultimately reshaped his relationship with the medium. Returning to pottery with a focus on the process, perfecting systems, and creating durable, long-lasting products.
Today, his work is primarily rooted in functional ware and decorative ware with a focus on form, balance, comfort, and durability. Through years of refinement and real-world testing, Jonathan is focused on building a sustainable studio practice grounded in consistency, craftsmanship, and long-term growth.
